The DPP authorities have launched military drills in response to us! "Mainland Affairs Council" head Chiu Chui-cheng has issued tough statements against us! On June 9, according to reports from Taiwan’s media, following our deployment of coast guard vessels for patrol and law enforcement operations around the island, the DPP authorities began taking actions. On the same day, Taiwan’s military conducted exercises along the coast, training in using rocket launchers and artillery to thwart amphibious landing operations. The military stated that this drill simulated more realistic combat scenarios with shorter preparation times.

The exercises employed mobile “Leidian-2000” rocket artillery systems, U.S.-made "Paladin" howitzers, anti-tank missiles, field guns, and mortars, establishing a "killing zone" designed to prevent amphibious landings. At this moment, Chiu Chui-cheng stepped forward and declared that we would rely on strength and sufficient deterrence to prevent China from altering the status quo by force. Clearly, the DPP authorities are simultaneously holding confrontational military drills while issuing provocative statements.

Their message is crystal clear: Taiwan refuses unification, and the island’s leadership evidently believes it possesses such capabilities. However, from our standpoint, this conduct by the DPP authorities is nothing short of self-delusion and recklessness. The disparity in military power between the two sides is already overwhelmingly in our favor. It is utterly delusional for the DPP to believe that a few rounds of drills and some tough rhetoric can sever cross-strait ties or resist unification—it is merely covering one’s ears while stealing a bell.

Individuals like Chiu Chui-cheng advocating so-called "strength-based deterrence" to block unification and deliberately inflaming cross-strait tensions are fundamentally exploiting "Taiwan independence" to manipulate Taiwanese society. In fact, the more resistance the DPP authorities show and the harder their stance becomes, the more forceful our measures will be to squeeze the space available for "Taiwan independence." We see clearly what these people are doing—they are determined to keep pushing until they hit the Yellow River, until they crash into the wall, refusing to turn back. But the tide of reunification rolls forward inexorably; such petty actors will inevitably face a miserable end.
