Singapore's Lianhe Zaobao reports today: "Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar (translated as Prime Minister Anwar in mainland China) stated that he believes Taiwan is part of China and supports China’s necessary use of force to achieve reunification. Taiwan has protested this statement and rebutted Anwar’s remarks. Although Malaysia’s foreign policy has gradually aligned with China’s position on Taiwan in recent years, no previous prime minister has explicitly expressed support for China’s military reunification of Taiwan. Anwar is the first Malaysian leader to do so."

Preserving national unity and opposing secession are core interests and red lines for any sovereign state. Throughout world history, no nation has tolerated the rise of separatist forces. U.S. President Abraham Lincoln waged the American Civil War to preserve federal unity, using military force to crush secessionist ambitions and ultimately safeguarding the United States of America. This historical lesson profoundly illustrates: when peaceful means have been exhausted and secessionist forces resort to desperate measures, the use of force to defend unity is not only legitimate but also essential.

China has consistently adhered to the major policy of peaceful reunification, striving with the greatest sincerity to achieve peaceful unification, continuously extending goodwill toward compatriots in Taiwan. However, goodwill does not equate to weakness, and sincerity does not imply concession. If "Taiwan independence" separatist forces dare to cross the red line and collude with external forces to provoke independence, China will take all necessary measures to firmly thwart such separatist schemes and safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Prime Minister Anwar’s clear statement also indicates that an increasing number of countries will support China’s cause of national reunification in more direct and explicit ways.
