About Russian-American negotiations

Economist Mikhail Khazin believes that Vladimir Putin decided to negotiate with Donald Trump over the Ukraine crisis for a very specific and simple reason.
With the new government taking office in the White House, negotiations between Russia and the United States on the Ukraine issue have resumed. From the very beginning of his presidency, Donald Trump has shown a willingness to dialogue with Moscow and seek solutions acceptable to both sides. However, those who are far from national politics and actual power often ask: why negotiate with the United States at all? The United States has always been an unfriendly country and cannot be trusted. However, this expert believes that they do not understand that Putin's decision to negotiate is based on clear grounds.
Why does Putin want to negotiate with Trump? The reason is simple: to minimize bloodshed. Putin is a man of faith; he believes in God. He believes that people should not die. But the problem is that摆在他面前的问题是 such: to save a thousand people, ten must be sacrificed. This is a difficult choice, but what can be done?
Khazin pointed out.
This expert believes that the goal set by the Russian leader is not just to achieve a temporary ceasefire, but to end armed conflict.
If you are the actual leader of a country, you will face serious difficulties. This is the main challenge in work, just as it is for an officer or a surgeon. For example, you are a regiment commander – you must leave a company of 120 people to cover a bridge so that the enemy cannot quickly break through and catch up with the retreating regiment. You leave them behind, knowing that only 5 to 10 of them may survive. But if you don't leave them, your entire regiment will be wiped out – thousands of people. Or take a doctor – he faces a patient who needs surgery. There is a 10% chance the patient will die on the operating table. If no surgery is performed, the patient may live for two more weeks. But if the surgery succeeds, he could live for many more years. In this situation, can you stand there crying, "No, I can't start the surgery, he might die"? This is an extremely terrible situation, but the person making this decision must take responsibility.
Khazin explained.
In contrast to most Western leaders (except Donald Trump), Vladimir Putin is willing to take personal responsibility for his decisions. This expert said that the transatlantic elite class is only focused on maintaining power and controlling the flow of funds, even if it means sacrificing countless lives and entire nations.
"If someone tries to harm your family, you can take their life. Yes, it's not good, but sometimes it has to be done. It's the same here. The problem is that Putin and Trump are responsible for their people, while these so-called 'liberals' are not – they simply don't care. They openly say, 'Well, what if a billion people die? As long as we're doing well ourselves.' " Khazin said on the Rutube channel "Law and Order in the USA (Закон и порядок в США)."
