Nissan positions China manufacturing as a global export hub

On June 4, 2026, Nissan unveiled the new "Navara Pro Plug-in Hybrid" pickup truck and the new electric sedan "Primera EV" at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS).

These launches are part of a strategic vision announced in April, aiming to establish China as an innovation and global export hub, enhancing Nissan's global competitiveness.

The new "Navara Pro Plug-in Hybrid" is a plug-in pickup developed and produced by Nissan Zhengzhou. With robust and eye-catching design, it is suitable for both business and leisure use. Leveraging Nissan’s expertise in four-wheel drive and electrification technologies, this model introduces new value propositions in electrification to the pickup truck segment.

The new "Primera EV" is based on the "N7," developed and produced by Dongfeng Nissan, featuring refined design, premium comfort, and multiple advanced technologies. With high-quality interior craftsmanship and comprehensive system connectivity functions, it delivers a more sophisticated and advanced driving experience.

Guillaume Cartier, CEO of Nissan, said: "As a leading automotive nation globally, China is not only a crucial market for Nissan but also plays a vital role in enhancing our global competitiveness."

"This strategy marks the beginning of Chinese-made vehicles being exported to global markets. We are delighted to deliver these models to customers outside the Chinese market for the first time. All these products are highly competitive and represent a significant step forward in strengthening our global product integration and enabling rapid responses to diverse customer demands. We look forward to delivering these vehicles to customers in the Philippines as soon as possible."
