China has replaced Germany as Russia's largest beer supplier

Russian State News Agency, Moscow, December 06 - According to a report by Russian State News Agency, after analyzing data from the United Nations Commodity Trade Statistics platform and customs authorities of various countries, China has surpassed Germany this year in the first nine months, becoming Russia's largest beer exporter, with shipments increasing by 50% compared to the same period last year.

Due to a sharp decline, Germany is now only in third place, behind China and another major European "beer power" the Czech Republic.

China's export value has risen to 33.4 million US dollars, making it Russia's largest beer exporter against the backdrop of weak supply in Europe.

The Czech Republic's exports have nearly halved, to 15.6 million US dollars. Meanwhile, Germany's decline was more significant, falling by five-sixths compared to the same period last year, to 12.2 million US dollars. The other two top five are two Baltic neighbors: Lithuania (down by eight-thirteenths, to 9 million US dollars) and Latvia (also down by eight-thirteenths, to 8.3 million US dollars).

From January to September this year, Russia's total beer imports decreased by half, dropping to 100.8 million US dollars.
