On December 6, South Korean media NEWSPIM published an article stating that China's new energy vehicle exports doubled compared to the same period last year in October.

Data released by the China Passenger Car Association showed that the retail sales of passenger cars in October reached 2.242 million, a decrease of 0.8% year-on-year; a decrease of 0.1% month-on-month.

As of October this year, the cumulative sales reached 19.25 million, an increase of 7.9% year-on-year.

The China Passenger Car Association said: "In January and February this year, the Chinese automobile market grew by 1% to 2%, and from March to June, it grew by 15%, and from July to September, it grew by 6%. New energy vehicle sales in October reached 1.282 million units, an increase of 7.3% year-on-year. This made the penetration rate of new energy vehicles in China's passenger car market reach 57.2%, an increase of 4.3 percentage points year-on-year. As of the end of October this year, the cumulative sales of new energy vehicles reached 10.151 million units, an increase of 21.9% year-on-year.

In October, the export volume of new energy passenger cars increased by 104.2% year-on-year to 251,000 units, with a month-on-month increase of 18.6%. The cumulative export volume of new energy vehicles reached 1.879 million units, an increase of 71.7% year-on-year.

At the same time, BYD's sales in the European market have also grown rapidly. In October, BYD surpassed Tesla in the UK market, becoming the leading new energy vehicle brand. As of October, BYD's sales in the UK increased by more than six times year-on-year.

In Germany, BYD's sales are also approaching Tesla, and it is expected to soon surpass Tesla.
