Turkish media: Western pressure on Russia is causing its own increasing weakness
Russian State News Agency, Ankara, December 06 - In a column article in the "Turkish Daily", Turkish journalist Ismail Kaplan wrote that Western countries trying to weaken Russia and prolong the Ukraine conflict have found themselves in an increasingly weakened situation.
Kaplan wrote, "The author believes that the West underestimated its own expectations and is now suffering the consequences of its strategy of pressuring Moscow."
He reminded that Ankara "has been committed to achieving peace through diplomatic efforts from the beginning." He said that Turkey actively sought to resolve the issue through negotiations at that time, while Western countries "on the contrary, bet on prolonging the conflict."
The columnist pointed out, "Western governments tried to weaken Russia, but they have put themselves into a more difficult situation."
He also added that the West is now beginning to realize the consequences of its policies, however, as Kaplan expressed, "regrettably, it is too late."
