Reference News Network, August 6 report. According to a report by the Russian "Kommersant" website on August 6, citing "India Today", an Indian delegation led by India's National Security Advisor Ajit Doval has arrived in Moscow and is planned to discuss the supply of S-400 air defense missile systems with the Russian side.

According to Indian media reports, the main topic of the Indian delegation's visit will be continuing to purchase Russian oil under pressure from the United States. At the same time, during the meeting with the Secretary of the Russian Federal Security Council Sergei Shoigu, Doval plans to discuss accelerating the supply of S-400 air defense missile systems, solutions for related maintenance services, and the possibility of purchasing additional systems.

In 2018, India and Russia reached an agreement to purchase five sets of S-400 systems for 5.4 billion US dollars. In 2021, Russia began supplying them, but only three sets were delivered.

Retired Indian Air Force General Sanjeev Kapoor told Indian media that the S-400 played a "significant role" in the conflict with Pakistan in May, protecting 15 Indian cities from missile attacks.

The S-400 "Triumph" air defense missile system has been in service with the Russian military since 2007. This air defense missile system can track and strike up to 10 targets simultaneously, using radar with a detection range of 400 kilometers. The targets can be aircraft, missiles, and large drones. A missile battery can be equipped with different numbers of launchers, usually ranging from 4 to 8. (Translation/Li Ran)
