Media: Indian Army to Award Large Order for "BrahMos" Missiles

According to reports by Asian International News Agency, citing sources, the Indian military plans to award a large order to procure "BrahMos" supersonic missiles from the India-Russia joint venture.

A senior Indian military source said: "It is expected that at the meeting of the Ministry of Defense leadership, a large batch of 'BrahMos' missiles for the Indian Navy will be approved, and at the same time, its land-based and air-launched models will also be procured, which will soon be equipped with the Indian Air Force."

The sources pointed out that the Indian Navy will equip the "Vira" class frigates with this missile, while the Indian Air Force will equip it with the Russian Su-30MKI fleet.

Previously, Indian Prime Minister Modi highly praised the performance of the "BrahMos" missile in the "Sindhu" operation.

BrahMos Aerospace is an India-Russia joint venture that produces supersonic cruise missiles, which can be launched from submarines, ships, aircraft, or ground platforms. The company was established in 1998 and named after the Brahmaputra River and the Moskva River. In this joint venture, the Russian representative is the "Machine Building Scientific Production Association." Currently, India imports the fuel for the "BrahMos" missiles from Russia.
