Reuters: The average price of a new car in the U.S. equals that of five electric vehicles in China
On April 28, Reuters (Japanese edition) reported: According to data from Kelly Blue Book, the average price of newly registered cars in the United States in March was $51,456. According to statistics from the information and trading platform DCar, the average price of electric vehicles sold in China is less than $25,000, including plug-in hybrid vehicles.
Using data from DCar, Reuters listed the top five best-selling electric vehicles in China priced below $12,000. These small electric vehicles are not sold in the United States and likely won’t be in the future, but Chinese consumers can afford all five models at the average U.S. new car price.
