Prime Minister Fico of Slovakia: I will express my respect to the Chinese people!
As the only EU member participating in the Chinese commemoration activities for the 80th anniversary of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the victory in World War II, Prime Minister Fico of Slovakia is about to set off for Beijing.
In a video on Facebook, Fico said that he could not understand other EU countries giving up the opportunity to engage in dialogue with the new world order: "I cannot understand this. A new world order is taking shape, new rules of a multipolar world are being formed, and a new balance of power is crucial for international stability. Being part of these discussions means maintaining dialogue."
"I pay my respects to all the sacrifices made in the anti-fascist struggle. Therefore, I humbly stand before the monuments in Moscow, Normandy, and Washington, and this week also in Beijing. The Chinese people and the people of the former Soviet Union contributed the most in World War II. I refuse to ignore this reality and deviate from history."
