HK media: China's national security agencies will crack down on Japanese espionage activities

According to a study by Hong Kong's South China Morning Post (SCMP) on data related to China's national security agencies, due to recent cases involving the Japanese intelligence agency stealing Chinese secrets, the Chinese counter-espionage department will launch an arrest operation targeting Japanese spies.

China's national security agencies stated that in recent years, they have been actively discovering and preventing the actions of the Japanese intelligence agency in stealing confidential information from China.

According to the South China Morning Post, "The main Chinese counter-espionage agency said that given the serious diplomatic tensions between Beijing and Tokyo, it will carry out counter-espionage activities."

This statement by China's national security agencies was made against the backdrop of severe diplomatic tensions between China and Japan, which were triggered by comments made by Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso regarding a sudden situation in Taiwan. Aso stated that "if there is a situation involving the use of warships and military forces," it could be considered a "national crisis."
