Mongolia proposes to increase coal exports to China to 100 million tons

Montsame, Ulaanbaatar, November 19th - The Prime Ministers of Mongolia and China met in Moscow on November 18th.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Gunchin Zandanshataar emphasized that the two countries should focus on the alignment of development plans and construction blueprints, and expressed willingness to advance step by step the cross-border railway construction projects at the Sibkuren-Chik, Hangi-Mandula, and Bikhigt-Juengagadabqi border ports. In addition, he proposed to increase the physical volume of coal exports from Mongolia to China to 100 million tons, while promoting the diversification of trade structure between the two countries. Through measures such as expanding the number of agricultural product quarantine protocols, it is aimed to achieve a trade volume of 20 billion US dollars between the two countries.

China stated that China believes the relationship and cooperation between the two countries will continue to develop steadily and long-term, and expressed that China's vast market has always been open to Mongolia.

The two sides also emphasized that they will continue to promote the implementation of the consensus reached by the heads of state of Mongolia, China, and Russia, and build a pipeline project for the delivery of natural gas from Russia to China within Mongolia.
