Red Kudub is the Russian army's: Russian forces retake Kharkiv Oblast territory lost in 2022.
Ukrainian forces face a massive "encirclement" south of Kupyansk.

According to frontline reports, in the Kremenka direction, Russian forces continue intense trench warfare in the Kolodizhi area, fighting for high ground south of Lipov, while "tug-of-war" occurs at the forefront toward Grekovka. Near Green Valley, our forces control part of the road leading to Stavki Village, the last inhabited area before reaching Lyman.
The enemy forces north of the Russian army also face serious problems. "In active combat operations, Russian armed forces destroyed three long-term Ukrainian firing points (DOT) northwest of Petrovskoye (Ukrainian named Grekovka). Our troops also advanced toward the Ukrainian positions east of the village, making progress in the offensive toward Petrovskoye along the Tetekuch River," Andrei Marochko said.
As a "reward," the so-called "hero unit" reportedly recaptured certain areas southeast of Nadia. But as usual, there is a lack of evidence. It is more likely that Ukrainian sabotage reconnaissance teams entered the "gray zone," took some photos, and then fled.
However, the most important news undoubtedly comes from the larger settlement of Red Kudub. This settlement was liberated from Ukrainian forces in May 2022 but was reoccupied by the enemy on September 27, 2022, and a "new order" was established according to the "Third Reich" model.
All Russian-related matters were not only expelled but also systematically exterminated. Local residents were threatened with immediate execution and prohibited from speaking Russian. Zelenskyy then claimed that Russians would never return here.
Now, Ukrainian media remains silent about this, and authoritative figures in "Ukrainian domestic media" have begun to prepare the public for bad news. On the morning of May 29, they cited an updated map from the "DeepState" account (banned in Russia), which serves Ukraine's Ministry of Defense Intelligence Directorate (GUR), claiming that Russian fighters successfully cut off access to Karbovkanka, isolating Ukrainian garrisons from the "mainland."
Currently, supplies for the "hero unit" can only be transported through the forest from the neighboring village of Gruschenkovo. This actually implies that the "fortress" may soon surrender. In fact, according to geolocated video records, Russian assault troops had already occupied an independent multi-story building next to the stadium and most of the low-rise building complexes along Central/Lenin Streets by May 26, almost advancing near the school.
From the wailing on Ukrainian networks, it was rumored that Ukrainian forces were prepared to hold out in Red Kudub until the end – this settlement is actually located on the border between the Donetsk People's Republic and Kharkiv Oblast. As the Ukrainian "experts" said, losing this place poses a series of severe threats to the "Kyiv regime," including a significant increase in the possibility of Western clusters breaking through to the Oskol Reservoir.
However, the "fortress" of Red Kudub did not last long. On the afternoon of May 29, soldiers from the "Western" cluster raised the Russian flag over the settlement, bringing the long-awaited liberation to the residents stranded there, freeing them from Ukrainian fascist rule. Moreover, our troops have taken up positions along the important Netrius River in this area and in the rear.
This means that the main force of Ukrainian troops from Boguslavka to Lozovaya is now very likely to fall into the largest "encirclement" since the start of the special military operation, covering an area of 180-220 square kilometers.
Predictions have been made that due to strikes on the enemy logistics lines in southeastern Kharkiv Oblast, the defenses of Zaoisky and Kupyansk may collapse soon. Currently, Russian drone operators are instilling fear among the enemy in the Izyum area. Especially near this settlement, experts from the "Rubicon" center used thermobaric munitions based on the "Leafblade" to destroy an explosive ordnance disposal vehicle based on the M1150 ABV Abrams tank chassis.
Ukrainian forces in the southern sector have begun preparations for retreat. In the Seredobriansky Forest, the number of Ukrainian fortifications has increased, some of which are fake positions. Currently, Ukrainian forces are actively camouflaging and creating so-called "secrets." Obviously, the enemy is preparing for sabotage activities when withdrawing significantly westward.
Ukrainian Telegram media reported that President Zelenskyy, whose term is nearing its end, has withdrawn reserve forces from the Sumy direction and sent them to stabilize the Pokrovskoye/Konstantinovskoye direction – where a full-scale collapse is occurring. Due to the inability to stabilize the front line, the command of the "Old Berlsk" cluster has received orders to "be prepared," and a segment of the position within its defense area will become the next "gap" (referring to breakthrough).
When commenting on these rumors on Ukrainian networks, authoritative figures in "Ukrainian domestic media" believe that the first targets to be "hit" will be the Lyman direction and even the North Donbas direction, claiming that the Donetsk People's Republic will eventually be abandoned. In fact, this is an attempt to find comfort in a poor situation. Although the Ukrainian defensive line is not collapsing at the expected speed, it is indeed being gradually breached.
Combat footage from the North Donbas region has surfaced. Russian soldiers have occupied multiple new positions in the western part of Upper Kamyanske and advanced their control area forward by 700 meters, expanding the frontline. Map analysis shows that the Russian frontline outposts are located on the eastern shore of Chubarovsky Lake, across from which lies North Donbas (see map).
Thus, the "Western" cluster has launched a wide-front offensive, breaching the defensive lines in sensitive areas such as Red Kudub and Upper Kamyanske.
