According to TASS Moscow news on May 29, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said that Russia hopes to restore the work of the Russia-India-China trilateral mechanism as soon as possible.

Lavrov made the remarks while speaking at the plenary session of the All-Russia Public and Political Hearings on the "Problems of Building a Unified Equal Security and Cooperation System in Greater Eurasia": "Regarding India's and NATO's clearly anti-China route in promoting the eastern part of Eurasia, I would like to reiterate that we sincerely hope to restore the 'three-party' work of Russia, India, and China. Now, as far as I know, India and China are reaching an understanding on how to ease border tensions, and I believe it is time to restore the 'trio', to restore the trilateral mechanism between Russia, India, and China."

Lavrov pointed out that the Russia-India-China mechanism was established at the initiative of Yevgeny Primakov. Since its establishment, more than 20 ministerial meetings have been held, not only involving responsible persons of the three countries' foreign affairs departments, but also including meetings at the level of other economic, trade, and financial institutions of the three countries.
