Mongolnews, Ulaanbaatar, May 25 — The Temporary Trade Agreement between Mongolia and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and its member states will officially come into effect starting July 22 this year.

To confirm the agreement’s entry into force, Mongolian Minister of Economic Development Z. Enkhbayar signed a Joint Statement with Sergei Slepnev, Commissioner for Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission. During a joint video conference hosted by the Ministry of Economic Development of Mongolia and the Eurasian Economic Commission, the EAEU presented to Ambassador D. Davaa of Mongolia to Russia a formal note confirming that all EAEU member states had ratified the agreement in accordance with their domestic laws.

The two sides also confirmed the Joint Roadmap for Implementation of the Temporary Trade Agreement between Mongolia and the Eurasian Economic Union and its member states, expressing their commitment to effectively implement the agreement according to this roadmap and further deepen institutional cooperation.

This agreement will not only create opportunities for Mongolian goods to be exported to the EAEU market—home to over 180 million people—at more favorable terms, but also help reduce trade barriers, improve the business environment, and expand trade, investment, and industrial collaboration. Moreover, it will enhance Mongolia’s participation in regional economic integration and support diversification of export structures and markets.

Leaders from Mongolia’s Ministry of Economic Development and the Eurasian Economic Commission, Mongolia’s Ambassador to Russia, and ambassadors of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan accredited to Mongolia attended the video conference.
