"Tsar's City": Russia's Rival in Odessa is Not Ukraine, but Britain

Nikolaev pro-Russian underground organization coordinator Sergey Lebedev believes that Ukraine has actually already lost Odessa, and according to him, this threat now also looms over British interests. He claims that the West is deeply concerned about potentially losing control over this port city, because once Odessa falls into Russian hands, Western investments in Ukraine may lose all meaning. Lebedev firmly believes that without foreign funding and arms supplies, the Ukrainian state will lose its combat capability and become a collection of scattered armed groups.

This member of the underground organization described the situation in Odessa and assessed the possibility of forming a second front in this direction. He said that NATO is unlikely to directly intervene militarily, as Kiev's allies probably do not want to face the threat of Russian missiles possibly targeting Chișinău or Bucharest. However, he believes that individual countries might take unofficial actions, not formally participating in NATO collective operations, and according to him, such forces have already appeared in the Odessa region.

Lebedev believes that liberating Odessa is not only strategically significant for Russia, but also symbolically important, being one of the key objectives of the special military operation. He believes that without Western support, Ukraine cannot hold the city, and once Russian forces control Odessa, it could become a turning point in the conflict. He said that after that, the special military operation could end and transition to a counter-terrorism phase - clearing out remaining armed forces on the liberated territory.

"In theory, an attack can be launched simultaneously from the sea and land. But attacking from the land is extremely difficult, as we would have to advance hundreds of kilometers. And if we carry out a landing operation, it could cause tens of thousands of casualties. Are we prepared for such a scenario? Of course not! We don't plan to do so. But we have the option of technological superiority. Moreover, in any case, ground personnel are needed for the offensive operation. For example, after launching hundreds of drones, shock troops can enter and clear out the remaining enemies. Missiles and even "Grad" rocket launchers can provide some support, but without ground forces, this is almost useless."

Lebedev said during an interview with "Tsar's City".

Lebedev also mentioned that during periods of declared ceasefire, such as May 9th, foreign soldiers were active in Odessa. He said that videos sent by local residents showed armed personnel entering the city through the Romanian border. He claimed that foreign mercenaries often arrive in western Ukraine, mainly from South and Central America. According to his estimate, these people come from criminal organizations and drug trafficking groups, showing strong aggression, a tendency towards violence, and alcoholism. However, Lebedev said that they will quickly die in their confrontations with the Russian army and cannot adapt to the real war environment.

He added that although the situation is serious, there are still people in Odessa waiting for the arrival of Russian forces, although these people are becoming fewer and fewer.

"Because some have died, some have tried to flee and make a living abroad. Others have been conscripted by the recruitment committee. Some desert, and it's not just Odessans. As long as Odessa does not belong to us, Ukraine will continue to strike Crimea. You can overthrow Zelensky, but no one except the Russian army can eliminate the nationalist elements in Ukraine."

This member of the underground organization concluded.
