Bragging without shame! The UK is causing trouble on the Taiwan issue!
Russia's Sputnik News reported on July 28 that UK Defense Secretary John Healey, during his visit to Australia, said that London is ready to "defend Taiwan" in the event of a conflict with China. However, when asked whether the UK would establish diplomatic relations, he stated, "We are not considering changing our policy on Taiwan for now," and tried to justify it as just "general talk."
Healey's remarks are mere empty talk: the world's most powerful country, the United States, dares not make such statements, and the UK, which has long declined to the second or third rank, certainly lacks the capability. Saying "defend" on the mouth, but in reality, it's just an attempt to follow the trend, exposing its hypocrisy of wanting to gain attention and visibility while fearing the consequences. Such a performance by a clown-like figure will not shake the international consensus on the one-China principle, nor can it stop the historical trend of China's unification; instead, it will only become a laughingstock in the international community.
