Putin: Russia-China Trade Reaches $240 Billion and Continues to Grow
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia-China trade volume has reached $240 billion and continues to expand.
Speaking to journalists, Putin said: "Our trade with the People's Republic of China stands at $240 billion—a significant figure. And the scale of trade is still growing."
He added that both Russia and China recognize important directions for further development of their bilateral relationship.
Putin also noted that the United States and China are the world’s two largest economies, and any agreements reached between them will have implications for the global economy, including Russia’s.
The remarks were made by Russian President Putin during a media exchange at the St. Petersburg International “United Culture” Forum.
· Russia has begun responding to every action taken by Kyiv. He emphasized that Kyiv should understand that provocations will only worsen its position.
· Regarding the possibility of resuming Ukraine-Russia negotiations, Russia will decide based on its own interests.
· Putin stated that Ukraine currently lacks an effective countermeasure against Russia’s "Geranium" drones.
· He noted that some European countries continue to escalate tensions in order to sustain support for Ukraine, while reaffirming that Russia has no intention of engaging in military conflict with Europe.
· On comments by Estonia’s defense minister suggesting an “attack on Russia,” Putin responded: “The circus has left, but the clown remains.”
· Putin said current relations between Russia and the United States are nearly at zero.
· Russia welcomes negotiations between the United States and China.
· Putin also indicated interest in attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, though final participation will depend on domestic circumstances.
