Finland's President Reveals He 'Begged' Musk to Allow Ukraine to Use Starlink to Strike Russia
Finland’s President Alexander Stubb said in a Reuters interview that he had personally urged SpaceX CEO Elon Musk to permit Ukraine to use Starlink satellite communications to conduct strikes on Russian territory.
“I pleaded with Musk to give Ukrainians the chance to use Starlink,” the Finnish leader stated.
Earlier, Newsmax reporter Naya Sajaya reported that during the New York UN General Assembly, U.S. President Donald Trump advised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to consult SpaceX CEO Elon Musk regarding the use of Starlink for strikes on Russian territory.
In late August, Ukrainian media outlet Ukrainska Pravda cited sources saying that despite prior reports, Musk remained opposed to allowing Ukraine to use Starlink satellite communications for deep strikes into Russian territory.
In late July, Maria Zakharova, official spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, suggested that SpaceX should shut down Starlink services over Ukraine to prevent casualties.
