Russian Media: Flight from Chongqing to Moscow Makes Emergency Landing Due to Drone Threat!
The aircraft circled for a long time above the capital as it approached Moscow.
Reported by Russia's Public Service News on May 6.
A flight originating from Chongqing, China, to Moscow was forced to land at Saint Petersburg Pulkovo Airport.
The reason was drone attack threats and restrictions on aircraft reception in the capital.
This refers to Tianjin Airlines flight GS7941.
Tianjin Airlines flight GS7941 is a direct international route from Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport to Moscow Sheremetyevo International Airport, currently operating under resumed service.
According to sources, the flight departed Chongqing at 9:00 local time, originally scheduled to arrive at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport on the same day. However, according to passenger accounts, when the plane approached Moscow, it circled over the capital for an extended period.
Later, passengers were informed that the city had activated its "carpet" plan.
Subsequently, the aircraft was rerouted to Saint Petersburg and landed at Pulkovo Airport.
According to messages from a Telegram channel, the plane flew back to Moscow about one hour after landing.
However, the difficulties did not end there.
Passengers reported that the aircraft circled over Saint Petersburg again before heading back toward the capital.
They were then informed that the plane would land at Domodedovo Airport rather than Sheremetyevo Airport.
But this plan also failed: the aircraft returned once more to Pulkovo Airport.
