With Victory Day military parade approaching, Ukraine launches large-scale drone attacks on Moscow: up to 250 drones deployed

On May 4, Ukrainian propaganda accounts released a situational map claiming that between 220 and 250 Ukrainian drones were launched toward Moscow.

Current reports indicate that the Russian air defense forces intercepted and destroyed most targets at long range before they could approach Moscow.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that within six hours, 90 Ukrainian drones had been shot down across various regions within Russia.

Moscow Mayor Sobyanin stated that a total of nine drones were downed in the outer approaches to Moscow throughout the day, with the final two intercepted around 16:00 Moscow time.

Micro-comment

This was an unprecedented large-scale, coordinated drone assault: Ukraine's propaganda claimed deployment of a massive formation of 250 drones, aiming to overwhelm Moscow’s long-range air defense system. This indirectly confirms that recent days leading up to the Victory Day have seen a sharp escalation in Ukraine’s deep strikes against Russian territory.

On the same day, Zelenskyy publicly spoke at the European Political Community summit held in Yerevan, threatening to disrupt Russia’s Victory Day celebrations: “Ukrainian drones will also appear over the sky during this parade.”
