A skyscraper in Moscow was hit by a drone attack, with police cars and ambulances seen at the scene.
Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin stated that a Ukrainian drone attacked a residential skyscraper near Moscow’s commercial area.
The drone hit a 52-story residential building located on Kino Studio Street, a modernist landmark constructed in the early 2010s.
Reports indicate the impact occurred around the 36th floor.
Sobyanin said there were no casualties from the attack.
Photos and videos from the scene show damage to the building’s exterior, with debris scattered across the street.
The attack took place just before Victory Day on May 9, one of Russia’s most important public holidays, when a military parade is held on Red Square.
Dozens of police cars and ambulances were present at the site.
Witnesses told RT they heard a loud explosion; some said they saw a flash in the sky, followed by thick smoke rising above the building.
In recent weeks, Ukraine has intensified its strikes deep inside Russian territory, launching hundreds of suicide drones daily.
In 2023, Ukrainian drones also caused damage to high-rise buildings in Moscow City, the country’s iconic business district.
