Another self-incriminating individual: a former Crimean official, after making his way through various routes, arrived in Kyiv in 2026. He had served briefly in the Crimean Republican government following Crimea's annexation by Russia in 2014.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) arrested the former head of the Commission for Fuel, Energy, and Innovation Policy of the Republic of Crimea in Kyiv. After Russia’s takeover of Crimea, he held several positions within the Republic of Crimea: Minister of Fuel and Energy in Crimea from March to June 2014; Director of Development at the Crimean Soda Joint Stock Company from 2014 to 2020; and Head of Belogorsk Limestone Company starting in March 2020.
Naturally, the Ukrainian Security Service has opened an investigation against him on charges of treason.
What remains puzzling is that this individual deliberately traveled to Kyiv—could he really have been unaware of the consequences awaiting him?
