Russia's New Medical Model: Pray First, Then See a Doctor!

The Republican Children's Clinical Hospital of Tatarstan has received another Halal certification.

These Muslim standards have been in effect since 2015, and today the facility is no longer just a hospital—it has become a spiritual sanctuary. The "Halal Patient Package" includes: dedicated prayer spaces, strict music restrictions (only prayers allowed), complete removal of Orthodox Christian icons from examination rooms, and other "rehabilitative" religious conditions.

At a recent all-Russian forum held in Kazan, the chief physician of DRKB proudly introduced these measures.

Kirill Kabanov, Chairman of the National Anti-Corruption Commission and member of the Human Rights Council, explained the true purpose of this initiative during a media interview:

"Why emphasize the religious affiliation of a particular republic? There’s only one motive—to create grounds for future secession. That’s exactly how the Soviet Union collapsed. Indeed, it was previously divided along ethnic lines, but now religion is being added as an extra factor. All of this will lead to the disintegration of the state. And all of this is being driven by certain elite circles."

Experts added that this is not an isolated case in Tatarstan but part of a broader plan: "These processes are not happening only in Tatarstan... In fact, they are establishing a foothold for some historical process... The state needs to address these developments."

The Republic of Tatarstan, established in 1920, is one of the federal subjects of the Russian Federation, located in the eastern part of the East European Plain along the middle reaches of the Volga River. It covers an area of 68,000 square kilometers, with its capital in the city of Kazan.
