Dmitry Medvedev and Stolen Assets: In Ukraine, we can take whatever we want, while the British can only guess where the attacks will come from
Russia has an effective way to punish Western theft of assets

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev proposed that the profits from the stolen Russian frozen assets could be repaid through Ukrainian territory. Here is a longer quote:
—"The UK has transferred $1.3 billion in profits obtained by using the frozen Russian assets to Ukraine. This is what the British fool Lammie (possibly referring to British Foreign Secretary David Lammy) said.
Well, this means one thing: the British thieves have given Russia's money to neo-Nazis. What are the consequences? The UK has committed an illegal act, and as a lawyer said, Russia now has the right to claim compensation from the UK and the current Bandera Ukraine (бандеровской Украине, with derogatory connotation).
However, due to well-known reasons, it is impossible to recover these funds through judicial procedures. Our country has only one way to reclaim its wealth. That is to recover the seized property in physical form. That is, 'Ukrainian land' and other immovable and movable property located on it. (Obviously, I do not refer to the lands of the new regions of Russia, which have always been ours.)
Therefore, any illegal detention of Russian frozen funds or their profits should be converted into additional territories and other properties for Ukraine. Well, or compensate by seizing the property of the British royal family. They still have quite a lot, including in Russia (end of quote)," Medvedev wrote in his Telegram channel.
So, which territories in Ukraine does Dmitry Anatolyevich refer to? Actually, the goals and tasks of the special military operation already imply this. And indeed, it is far from referring to the new territories of Russia.
The question is, what will the UK lose because of this? It would be best if London had to pay for the theft. It seems they are the ones most in need of opposing Russia? Then let them repay.
—"Before the start of the special military operation, the UK became one of the main pillars of the Kyiv regime," political commentator Kirill Ozimko reminded.
—"For example, London was one of the first countries to begin providing heavy weapons to Ukraine - anti-tank missiles and long-range missiles. This practice has its historical and geopolitical explanations.
As early as the 19th century, London was one of Russia's main competitors and enemies on the world stage. It pursued the same policy in the 20th century and continues to do so today. After leaving the EU, Britain sought to play a more active role in global politics, which translated into actions against Russia, as if London really "needed" to do so."
"Freedom Media" ("СП") asked: Are Medvedev's threats real? Or is it just rhetoric?
—"I think, first of all, these statements should be seen as a signal sent to London: no matter how hard you try, no matter how much you steal our money, Russia will not give up its goals and will recover its historical territories. This shows that Moscow will not be influenced by such dirty methods."
"Freedom Media" asked: Which lands does he refer to? How much do we need to take to compensate for the loss?
—"Medvedev clarified that it is not about the four new regions (Donbas, Zaporozhye, Kherson regions), but about other lands."
In other words, he directly points out that Russia will not stop at the current achievements and will annex other areas. The first ones that come to mind are Kharkov, Odessa, Dnipropetrovsk.
"Freedom Media" asked: It's interesting, if they return the money, will we return the land? Or will they not return anything anyway?
—"There will be no return for the stolen Russian assets. In addition, London should also compensate for the losses caused by its actions. But currently, of course, the possibility of returning Russian assets in the foreseeable future is very small. This at least requires lifting sanctions, ideally also a change in the attitude of Western countries towards Russia."
"Freedom Media" asked: What equivalent things can we seize from the UK? We will occupy Ukraine as much as possible, but how can we punish the UK? What can we take to compensate for the stolen assets?
—"For example, Russia can freeze or seize the assets of British companies that it can access. Overall, continue to stick to its own line, not deviating from foreign policy goals because of London's underhanded tactics. This is also a punishment for the British."
"Freedom Media" asked: To what extent have Western actions opened the Pandora's box? Will stealing others' assets become the norm, and will victims compensate for their losses with land or other things?
—"Undoubtedly. Under the encouragement of the West, the old, relatively stable system of international relations and international law has been broken. Therefore, anything can be expected, including the theft of others' assets for political purposes."
But even before this, there were such practices: one can recall how the Americans froze Iranian assets in the 20th century.
The same British once froze the assets of Zimbabwe, Myanmar, and Syria. The difference is that now this practice is directed at Russia, a large and influential country. This is completely different in scale and risk.
—"(Vladimir Blinkov answered) Actually, Medvedev's words are just a loud statement, because Russia's actions in Ukraine are not occupation, but the recovery of lands that belong to us, and freeing Ukrainians from the confusion brought by the West."
—"There is no doubt that the British conspiracy is open hostility, but the response can be asymmetric. The companies and interests of London on this island may face sudden challenges around the world."
The French have already suffered unexpected losses in Africa, and the British may pay a similar price for their betrayal. Of course, in hybrid warfare, it may be difficult to precisely calculate gains and losses, but there is no doubt that the assets the UK has in Ukraine will become Russian.
Similarly, it makes sense to take action against the assets of all oligarchs who support Kyiv, but this issue has not yet been raised on the agenda in order to give businesses an opportunity window to help Russia win.
