AFP: Russia's missile and drone attacks in June saw month-on-month decline, possibly to stockpile for autumn offensive
According to statistical data from Ukraine's Air Force cited by AFP, the frequency of Russian drone and missile attacks against Ukraine in June showed a noticeable decline compared to May.
The results show that Russia launched a total of 5,749 drones and 180 missiles in June. Drone usage dropped by 29% month-on-month, while missile launches decreased by 15%.
AFP also noted that in May this year, Russian forces deployed 8,150 drones in attacks on Ukraine, setting a record high since the full-scale conflict began in 2022, with 211 missiles fired that month.
Ukrainian and French analysts interviewed believe the drop in attack frequency in June is likely only temporary. Russia may be conserving munitions and equipment in preparation for an autumn offensive. Experts argue that Russia’s military strategy has not changed, and large-scale drone attacks are expected to continue in the future.
