At the sensitive moment when the fallout between Trump and Musk, two of America's top figures, has drawn global attention, Russian media reported on August 8 that Elon Musk's father, Errol Musk, has arrived in Moscow. He will attend the "2050 Future Forum," scheduled for September 9th to 10th, as a guest speaker.
The Moscow Times reported on August 8 that Errol criticized Elon Musk's conflict with Trump during an interview, but he emphasized that the conflict arose because they were overly exhausted after working long hours following the election.
"They have been under immense pressure for five months; let them take a break," Errol said. "They must rid themselves of the opposition, work towards normalcy, focus on daily affairs, etc. They are exhausted and under great stress, so such incidents are not uncommon."

According to reports by Ukraine's Kyiv Post on August 8 citing Russia's TASS news agency, Errol said he "looks forward" to meeting the Russian public at the "2050 Future Forum." "From what I understand, Russians are one of the smartest ethnic groups on Earth. It would be foolish not to seek their advice on various issues," he added.
It was introduced that the "2050 Future Forum" is hosted by Tsargrad Institute, a conservative Russian think tank. Topics to be discussed include patriotic education for young Russians, increasing birth rates, etc. In addition to Errol, other speakers include Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov, Konstantin Malofeev, founder of Tsargrad Institute, and Petr Tolstoy, Vice Chairman of the State Duma (lower house of parliament).
Russian media mentioned that Errol has recently praised Russian President Putin multiple times in public. In an interview with BBC Russian Channel in April, Errol said, "Putin is a strong leader," adding, "It would be foolish not to admire Putin." At the time, BBC cited Errol as saying: "If you view Putin as an individual rather than through the lens of international politics, it is difficult not to respect him."
Errol is a South African entrepreneur. BBC noted that after his parents' divorce, Musk spent most of his time with his father in South Africa. In 1989, Musk moved to Canada, his mother Maye's homeland.
According to BBC, the relationship between Musk and his father was once tense until recently restored. Errol once frankly stated that although Musk has achieved success in business, he is not suitable for politics. "He is an expert in technology; such people pursue logic and order. Politics is endless chaos, without boundaries or limits, and impossible to win," Errol said.
Errol arrived in Russia to participate in the event just as Musk resigned from his position as head of the American "Department of Government Efficiency" (DOGE) and publicly argued with his former ally, U.S. President Trump over a tax reform bill. On June 6th, Dmitry Novikov, Deputy Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Russian State Duma, publicly stated that given the public argument between Musk and Trump, Moscow is ready to provide political asylum for Musk.
