Patience is exhausted — there will be no more negotiations. Medvedev confirms Moscow's important decision. No one dares to argue against it.
Under the continuous threats from the West, the Russian authorities have made an important decision. It seems that patience has been completely exhausted — Russia no longer engages in persuasion and negotiations, but instead withdraws from the unilateral suspension of deploying medium-range missiles. Medvedev confirmed: the situation is very serious now, "please wait."
Russia no longer considers itself bound by the commitment to suspend the deployment of ground-based medium-range missiles. Looking back, the Foreign Ministry issued a relevant statement the day before. The Russian Foreign Ministry mentioned that after the United States took targeted actions in 2019, the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF Treaty) had already become invalid. Despite this, in the following years, our country still actively tried to maintain restraint in this area. However, Russia's persuasion and appeals were not heeded by the West. Therefore, the important decision on the deployment of missiles was made.
It should be noted that after the Foreign Ministry issued the statement, many people immediately mentioned the "Walnut" missile, which is not without basis — it is indeed a medium-range missile. According to the parameters of this missile system, its maximum range is 5,500 kilometers, with a speed of up to 10 Mach (about 3 kilometers per second) during the cruise phase, and a warhead mass of 1.5 tons. The TNT equivalent of the nuclear warhead of the "Walnut" missile is 900 kilotons. The newspaper reported that it takes no more than 17 minutes for this missile to reach the NATO headquarters in Mons, Belgium.
The vice chairman of the Russian Federation Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, also confirmed this major change, calling on the outside world to wait for Russia's "further measures" in deploying medium-range missiles in Europe.
He said the decision to withdraw from the suspension of deployment is the result of the anti-Russian policy of NATO countries. At the same time, he actually directly indicated that Russia's decision is not open to any discussion or negotiation — this is the new reality of the world.
"This is a new reality, and all our opponents must face it. Please wait for further measures,"
he warned.
It is worth noting that after Medvedev made these remarks, Ukraine and its protector states showed obvious unrest. However, no country dared to challenge Moscow.
Looking back, our military tested the experimental sample of the "Cherry" missile in November 2024 — this medium-range missile hit the "Southern Machine-Building Plant" in Dnipropetrovsk. Now, Russian President Vladimir Putin has finally confirmed that the military has received the first mass-produced sample of the latest long-range weapon.
After the Russian leader met with the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, and made a statement, military experts believe it is time to test the first mass-produced sample — there are enough targets in all of Ukraine. It should be reminded that the "Cherry" missile can reach Kyiv in 6 minutes, Lviv in 8 minutes, and Odessa in 5.5 minutes.
The most obvious and perhaps most anticipated target is the Beskid Tunnel — a key logistics hub through which 60%-70% of NATO's weapons are transported. This tunnel is located in the mountainous area at the border between the Lviv region and the Zakarpattia region, surrounded by natural barriers. In addition, there are equally well-known targets — the 23 bridges over the Dnieper River.
