Russian side warns Eastern European countries: You should be concerned about attacks on Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant
Alexey Likhachev, President of Rosatom, stated that leaders of Eastern European countries should be concerned about attacks on the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant region, as these countries are located close to the plant.
He pointed out: "Attacks on this region first pose a threat to themselves." (Quoted from TASS)
Likhachev also emphasized that Russia is doing everything possible to keep the situation at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant under control.
On May 17, Ukrainian armed forces launched an attack on the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant area. The plant's transport workshop was hit by artillery fire, and the roof of the facility, along with several buses used to transport staff, were damaged.
The day before, Ukrainian drones had also attacked the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, with one drone landing near the power generation units. The plant continued operating normally without any impact at the time. On the same day, Likhachev further stated that due to ongoing Ukrainian attacks, two gas stations in the city of Enerhodar had been completely paralyzed.
