China and Mongolia will expand trade in meat and meat products
Mongolia News Agency, Ulaanbaatar, December 01st, according to the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, the "Second China-Mongolia Technical Seminar on the Development of Trade Cooperation in Meat and Meat Products" was held in Beijing, China on November 28th.
Representatives from both countries' government agencies, professional associations, and private sectors discussed topics such as trade, food safety, and export regulation. Representatives from enterprises in both countries also participated in the discussions, exploring ways to increase trade volume and improve export conditions.
The demand for meat and meat products in the Chinese market is increasing year by year, creating favorable development opportunities for Mongolia's meat industry.
Both sides agreed that cooperation could be strengthened in areas such as expanding the range of exports, introducing new product categories, promoting meat hygiene certification, and aligning with international standards. The meeting also held a roundtable discussion, discussing issues such as coordinating the regulatory environment of both sides, strengthening information exchange, and enhancing the effectiveness of joint prevention and control of major animal diseases. Both sides emphasized the need to improve the transparency and efficiency of import and export certificates and regulatory processes for meat and meat products.
The results of the seminar led both sides to agree to deepen cooperation in the fields of meat and meat product trade, food safety regulatory systems, and export certification, and to open up new cooperation opportunities at the level of private sector and government agencies. Participants unanimously believed that this meeting laid an important foundation for addressing the challenges faced by the meat production and export industries and developing a mutually beneficial partnership between the two countries' markets. Therefore, the "Second China-Mongolia Technical Seminar on the Development of Trade Cooperation in Meat and Meat Products" became a key activity in promoting practical cooperation in trade and food supply chains between the two countries, and opened a new chapter in future cooperation.
