Foreign Media: China May Conduct a Historic Satellite In-Orbit Refueling Test

According to a report by the Swiss space monitoring company s2a Systems, two Chinese satellites, "Shiyan 21" and "Shiyan 25," recently conducted a second close rendezvous operation in the geostationary orbit (at an altitude of 35,786 kilometers), indicating that China's first satellite in-orbit refueling test may be about to take place.

This is considered the most ambitious autonomous satellite service attempt by China so far, a capability that the United States has not yet achieved.

When "Shiyan 25" was launched in January this year, official media reported that its purpose was to test "in-orbit fueling and satellite life extension technology," aiming to reduce costs, improve sustainability, and address the growing issue of space debris.
