Twelfth Mongolia-South Korea Foreign Ministry Consular Consultations Held, Mongolian Deputy Foreign Minister Meets with South Korean National Assembly Members

Mongolia News Agency, Ulaanbaatar, February 26th, according to news from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the twelfth round of consular consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and South Korea was held in Seoul on the 23rd of this month.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged in-depth opinions on bilateral relations and cooperation, the protection of the legitimate rights and interests of citizens of Mongolia and South Korea, as well as issues related to facilitating travel for Mongolian citizens to South Korea and conditions for visa applications.

The Mongolian delegation was led by B. Bold, Director of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, while the South Korean side was represented by Yoon Joo-sik, Director of the Consular Affairs and Security Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Korea.

During his visit to South Korea, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Mongolia, G. Amarbayar, met with Kim Song-jun, Chairman of the Mongolian-Korean Parliamentary Group and a member of the National Assembly of South Korea, as well as Chung Dong-youn, a South Korean government minister, and exchanged views on bilateral cooperation matters.

 

During the meeting, both sides pointed out that cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries plays an important role in the relationship between Mongolia and South Korea, and reiterated their commitment to maintaining the frequency of high-level visits, strengthening political trust and friendship between the two peoples, and expanding and developing cooperation in all fields.

South Korea also expressed that Mongolia plays an important role in security dialogues in the Northeast Asia region, and emphasized its ongoing support for multilateral dialogue mechanisms in the field of security.

Both sides agreed that it is necessary to actively utilize multilateral dialogue platforms to ensure broad participation in the dialogue process and jointly maintain regional peace and stability.
