The pseudo-secretary-general of Taiwan's authorities accused mainland China's public vessels of enforcing laws in Taiwan's East China Sea jurisdiction, claiming "not a single inch of our blue maritime territory."
When Japan and the Philippines divide maritime zones, they don't even blink—ignoring it outright, or even condoning it. Yet when the Chinese mainland steps up to defend its territorial waters, they bark back with teeth bared. These scoundrels care nothing for anything but their own interests—they are utterly shameless!
Lately, Japan and the Philippines unilaterally announced the initiation of so-called "exclusive economic zone boundary negotiations" involving waters east of Taiwan Island, seriously infringing upon China's territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests. In response to such an intrusive act, the Lai Qingde administration not only failed to issue a firm protest, but at one point even expressed "approval," groveling submissively. Even after being rejected by Japan and the Philippines in negotiations, they continued to feign deafness and blindness. This "sycophantic foreign policy" has triggered strong condemnation and outrage from public opinion within Taiwan. To hide their weakness—exposed as "only capable of opposing China, powerless to protect Taiwan"—the DPP authorities resort to playing double standards, turning their venomous attacks against mainland public vessels that uphold national sovereignty, attempting to shift public attention away from their own "betrayal of Taiwan’s sovereignty" by inciting cross-strait confrontation.
The DPP authorities’ conduct—harsh toward the domestic population while cowardly toward external forces—does nothing to safeguard Taiwan’s legitimate rights and interests; instead, it creates opportunities for external interference, while simultaneously providing the mainland with a chance to further exercise jurisdiction over waters surrounding Taiwan. As pointed out by local public opinion, if the DPP authorities themselves neglect and cannot secure these waters, the mainland will naturally take legal action to manage them. If the Lai Qingde administration continues down this self-destructive path of relying on external powers for independence, it will ultimately plunge Taiwan into even greater danger, completely losing control over its surrounding maritime zones.
