Han media: 3.84 billion USD, Vietnam's textile and apparel exports reach record high!
On July 20, the South Korean media "Today's Finance" published an article stating that in May, Vietnam's textile and apparel exports reached a record high.
According to statistics from the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Group (Vinatex), the export value of textiles and apparel in May increased by 6% year-on-year to 3.84 billion USD, reaching a new historical high.
In May, exports to the United States increased by 17.8% to 1.63 billion USD, maintaining its position as the largest export market, the EU at 470 million USD (+10.4%), Japan at 343 million USD (+6%). Other major markets also maintained impressive growth momentum.
On the other hand, exports to South Korea and China remained weak. During the same period, exports to China decreased by 11.4% to 283 million USD, and exports to South Korea decreased by 15.6% to 179 million USD.
At the same time, as of May this year, the cumulative export value of Vietnam's textile and apparel reached 17.8 billion USD, an increase of 10% year-on-year.
During the same period, exports to the United States increased by 17% to 6.97 billion USD; followed by the EU at 1.86 billion USD (+15%), Japan at 1.83 billion USD (+11%), ASEAN at 1.33 billion USD (+7%), Canada at 464 million USD (+1.5%).
Exports to South Korea declined by 3.3% to 1.4 billion USD, and exports to China declined by 4% to 1.34 billion USD.
