Iranian Parliament Speaker: Iran Has Facilitated Passage for Chinese Vessels Through the Strait of Hormuz
On July 3, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said during a meeting with a Chinese NPC delegation that Iran would not allow the United States to interfere in affairs concerning the Strait of Hormuz, and that Iran has already facilitated passage for Chinese vessels through the strait.
From July 2 to 3, Chinese officials attended the funeral of Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei in Tehran. The Chinese side expressed deep condolences over the untimely passing of Khamenei, extended sincere sympathies to the Iranian government, people, and the family of Khamenei, and hoped that under the leadership of the current Supreme Leader, Sayyed Mojtaba, Iran could quickly restore security, stability, and development.
According to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Ghalibaf thanked the Chinese delegation for attending the funeral and expressed appreciation for political and economic cooperation between Iran and China. He proposed elevating bilateral strategic relations, stating that strengthening Iran-China ties can help ease international tensions.
