In 2025, the state budget allocated 7.6 billion tenge for the exploration and research of 41 projects, aiming to enhance the attractiveness of investment in geological exploration work. According to the summary data published on the Prime Minister's website, the increase in mineral resources this year is as follows:
Gold – 97.8 tons;
Silver – 11.9 tons;
Copper – 36,400 tons.
At the same time, the "State Mineral Fund Management Plan" has added 73 new exploration blocks, totaling 1,061 blocks, with a total area of 2,652.5 square kilometers, as well as 62 mineral deposits that will be auctioned to the public.
By comparison, 23 solid mineral deposits were registered last year, 6 hydrocarbon deposits, and 6 groundwater deposits. At that time, the new reserves included: 199 million tons of oil, 22 billion cubic meters of natural gas, and 79,800 cubic meters of groundwater per day. This also indicates that the relevant work is systematic and continuous.
In 2025, Kazakhstan also reviewed technical mineral formations, registering 1,630 objects with a total volume of 536 billion tons. To date, the total number of technical mineral formations in the national mineral fund has reached 1,747, with a total mass of 550 billion tons, of which 450 are located near populated areas. Authorities pointed out that incorporating these mineral waste into processing and utilization has important social and environmental significance.
