(Kazakh International News Agency) According to the Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) state railway company, since the beginning of 2025, the railway freight volume between Kazakhstan and China has reached 23.2 million tons, an increase of 10% compared to last year.

Data shows that export cargo was 14.3 million tons (an increase of 9%), and import cargo was 8.9 million tons (an increase of 12%).

Notably, in early August, the Dostyk-Alashan Port line transported 28 trains in a single day, setting a record.

The national railway company stated that the Baktay-Ayaguz railway will be completed soon and will begin operation in early 2028.

Experts believe that the increase in transportation volume will enhance Kazakhstan's transit potential and its strategic importance between China and Europe.
