Hazarat International News Agency - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev delivered a speech at the 8th China-Kazakhstan Business Council meeting, introducing Kazakhstan's investment potential and emphasizing that China is a close neighbor, friend, and eternal strategic partner of Kazakhstan.

Tokayev pointed out that the deep historical roots, close ties, and mutual understanding between the two countries are solid bonds connecting the people of both nations.

He said: "Our two countries have always maintained deep mutual trust, and bilateral relations are developing vigorously and effectively. Thanks to this, China and Kazakhstan have laid a solid and dynamic foundation for business relations. China is a leading global country and an important partner of Kazakhstan in multiple fields such as trade. This cannot be separated from the contribution of President Xi Jinping. Last year, the bilateral trade volume reached 44 billion US dollars, setting a new historical high. But we should not stop here. I hope to work together with my Chinese friends to significantly increase the scale of bilateral trade in the next five years. We have the potential, and the leaders of the two countries have shown a firm political will and common goals."

China's Investment in Kazakhstan Reaches 27 Billion Dollars

Tokayev specifically mentioned that the investment cooperation between the two countries continues to expand, and China has invested 27 billion US dollars in Kazakhstan's economy.

"This is a very positive trend, and I am confident that this cooperation will continue to proceed successfully. Currently, there are more than 6,000 enterprises with Chinese capital in Kazakhstan, including global well-known companies such as China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), CITIC Group, Sinopec, and Huawei. In addition, many large and medium-sized enterprises are participating in the cooperation, and we pay great attention to this."

Pushing Business Cooperation to a New Level

Tokayev stated that this meeting will further consolidate the links between the business communities of the two countries. He pointed out that Kazakhstan's economy is steadily developing, being the largest economy in Central Asia, with a strong growth trend year on year. It is expected that the country's gross domestic product will exceed 300 billion US dollars by the end of this year. This is due to comprehensive measures such as economic diversification and improved investment environment, as well as successful cooperation with China.

To protect investors' rights, Kazakhstan is launching a national digital investment platform and establishing an investment headquarters to provide investors with fast decision-making and comprehensive support. In June this year, China and Kazakhstan signed the Agreement on the Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments. The visa-free system between the two countries also provides convenience for expanding business connections.

Tokayev emphasized: "The potential of our strategic partnership is huge, and we must fully utilize the existing opportunities."

The 8th China-Kazakhstan Business Council meeting attracted more than 500 representatives from government agencies and the business community of both countries, including more than 70 senior executives of major Chinese enterprises. Before the meeting, President Tokayev took a group photo with the executives of several Chinese enterprises.
