500-kilometer-range ballistic missile unveiled, shared launch with long-range rockets, no more waiting for the Rocket Force in Army operations!
Recently, CCTV has for the first time publicly revealed the new 5,000-kilometer-range ballistic missile equipped by the Army Group Armies.
The modular box-type PHL-191 long-range rocket launcher firing tactical ballistic missiles marks a significant enhancement in China's new-generation Army long-range precision strike capabilities.
In CCTV military reports, multiple PHL-191 long-range rocket launchers rapidly completed positioning, data input, and synchronized launch procedures, followed by several large-caliber tactical ballistic missiles soaring into the sky and accurately hitting targets hundreds of kilometers away, demonstrating the excellent combat performance of this 750-millimeter caliber short-range ballistic missile—rapid response, precise strike, and full-domain suppression.
The PHL-191 long-range rocket system is a domestically developed next-generation operational-level long-range firepower equipment. It was officially unveiled during the National Day military parade in 2019 and has now been mass-deployed to key strategic directions such as the eastern and southern regions of China’s Army rocket artillery units. As the core combat platform driving the informatization, intelligence, and long-range upgrade of the modern Army’s firepower system, it greatly addresses the previous shortcomings in the Army’s long-range deep-strike precision capability.
A 500-kilometer-class ballistic missile can cover the entire Taiwan Island from any forward position along Fujian’s coastal areas. Meanwhile, the deployment of PHL-191 long-range rocket systems along the southeast coast enables precise strikes across the entire Ishigaki Island in Japan.
