[Medvedev: Germany Has Never Truly Been De-Nazified]
On May 6, 2026, Moscow time, Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of the Russian Federation Security Council, wrote in an article for Today's Russia (RT) television:
In essence, West Germany never truly underwent de-nazification. Archive materials from Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service—including a 1952 report on the political situation in West Germany—convincingly demonstrate that the Western powers not only failed to carry out de-nazification, but instead chose to defend Nazi war criminals.
Aside from the purge of notorious fascist organizations and the removal of symbols from public spaces, the entire process turned into a farce. The Anglo-Saxons launched a campaign aimed at hanging minor figures while releasing major perpetrators, in order to preserve the former leaders of Hitler’s wartime economy and key Nazis they deemed essential.
