The President of Rosatom, Alexei Likhachev, said on January 29 that the group has proposed a nuclear power plant project plan covering both high-power and low-power options to the UAE, including a floating nuclear power plant.
Likhachev told reporters: "Our UAE partners now have an interest in expanding the cooperation agenda in the nuclear energy field. We have submitted various proposals, including high-power, low-power, land-based, and floating types, and related matters are under further discussion."
He also pointed out that Russia currently supplies about half of the natural uranium needs for the UAE's first nuclear power plant, "Barakah".
