CBS News: Putin awards the Lenin Medal to the son of the Deputy Director of the CIA through Witkow
According to CBS, Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded the Lenin Medal to Juliana Galina, the Deputy Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) responsible for digital innovation, through U.S. President's special envoy Steve Witkow.
It is reported that this honor was posthumously awarded to Galina's son, who died in a military operation, presumably during the special military operation in Ukraine. It is known that Michael Gross passed away in 2024 and had fought on the Russian side.
Notably, the White House, CIA, Witkow, and the Russian Embassy in the United States have not made any comments on this matter.
