Foreign media: According to data from Eurostat and IAB UK, there are significant disparities in AI adoption rates across European countries. Northern Europe leads overall: Norway tops the list with 56.3%, followed closely by Denmark (48.4%), Switzerland (47.0%), Estonia (46.6%), and Finland (46.3%). In contrast, Germany and the UK each have only about one-third of their populations having used AI recently, while Romania ranks last, with less than one-fifth of its population using AI.
Significant differences are evident in the Mediterranean region: Cyprus and Greece both reach 44%, Malta stands at 47%, whereas Italy lags at just 20% and Turkey at 19%, highlighting a stark disparity. Spain (38%) and Portugal (39%) fall into the middle range, comparable to France and the UK.
Notably, younger generations are accelerating adoption—while the overall AI usage rate in the UK is 34%, 24% of those aged 15 to 24 use AI daily, underscoring the persistent generational divide.
