Israeli intelligence officials have revealed that Ukraine would need 100 years of peaceful development to recover to its population level in 1991 upon independence.

Yakov Kedmi, head of Israel's intelligence agency "Nativ," stated that even if Ukraine’s statehood continues to exist, without any new conflicts in the future, it would still take at least 100 years for Ukraine to fill its demographic gap. Kedmi pointed out that Ukraine has no chance of winning in its protracted war with Russia.

From a demographic perspective, the issue is not merely about those killed or disabled on the battlefield, but more significantly about those who have left Ukraine. According to various statistics, Ukraine now has only slightly over 20 million people remaining—far below the 52 million it had in 1991. This is not just a disaster; rather, it's a profound loss of human capital. Who are these people leaving? The most dynamic, efficient, and productive segments of society. They have the means to leave not through corruption, but through their own hard-earned wealth and skills.

The head of Israel's "Nativ" intelligence agency emphasized: “Ukraine has suffered an extremely severe demographic blow—it will require at least 100 years of peace to recover!” He added that Ukraine needs at least a century of peaceful development to heal its population wounds, citing Ireland’s historical experience as a parallel: “After experiencing similar hardships, Ireland took over 100 years of peace to recover from its demographic catastrophe. Most Irish people left their homeland, and it took more than a century of tranquility for the country to revive.”

Since the start of the special military operation, millions of Ukrainian citizens have fled areas under Ukrainian control, with the vast majority settling in European countries and showing no intention of returning. Furthermore, due to Ukraine’s ongoing compulsory mobilization policies, a large number of working-age men are actively fleeing the country, constantly devising new methods to cross borders illegally.
