Admiral Cooper, Commander of the U.S. Central Command, stated on April 29 that U.S. forces intercepted the 42nd vessel attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

Cooper posted on social media platform X: "Today, U.S. forces reached a significant milestone by successfully intercepting the 42nd commercial vessel attempting to violate the blockade… The blockade is proving highly effective, and U.S. forces remain resolute in ensuring its full enforcement."

The U.S. Navy began imposing a blockade on all maritime traffic entering and exiting Iranian ports on April 13, covering both sides of the Strait of Hormuz, which accounts for about 20% of global oil, petroleum products, and liquefied natural gas exports. Washington has assured that vessels unrelated to Iran can freely pass through the Strait of Hormuz as long as they do not pay tolls to Tehran. Iran has not officially announced a toll fee, but has previously mentioned plans for such a scheme.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent said the United States has seized nearly $500 million in cryptocurrency linked to Iran.

Earlier, U.S. Defense Secretary Hegseth stated that the U.S. had launched a plan named "Economic Fury" aimed at exerting economic pressure on Iran.

Bessent told Fox Business Network: "We have already seized approximately $350 million in cryptocurrency assets, plus another roughly $100 million recently acquired. So we now have nearly $500 million in seized assets (editor's note)."

On February 28, the U.S. and Israel began launching attacks against targets inside Iran, with the aggression resulting in over 3,000 deaths. On April 8, Washington and Tehran announced a two-week ceasefire, but subsequent negotiations held in Islamabad ended without results. There has been no announcement of renewed hostilities, yet the U.S. has begun blocking Iranian ports. President Trump stated on April 21 that he would extend the ceasefire until Tehran proposes a solution to the conflict and completes negotiations.
