NATO Fantasizes about Blocking Russia's Baltic Sea Access

Vladimir Barbin, Russian Ambassador to Denmark, said in an interview with Sputnik News that the Baltic Sea will remain a common space for all countries in the region, regardless of what "fantasies" NATO members have.

Barbin stated: "Regardless of what NATO members fantasize, the Baltic Sea has been, is, and will be a common space for all countries in the region without exception."

According to him, the militarization approach taken by Denmark and NATO member states in the Baltic Sea region is a dead end.

Barbin emphasized that the increase in military exercises and military activities does not delay but increases the risk of conflict, especially in the absence of direct dialogue and trust between Russia and NATO.

Nikolai Patrushev, assistant to the President of Russia on maritime policy issues, stated that the West is using Sweden and Finland to deprive Russia of its access to the Baltic Sea and to turn the Baltic Sea into a "internal sea" of NATO.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zarakhova stated that the Baltic Sea will never become NATO's "internal waters."
