[Ukrainian Defense Minister: Streamlining Procurement Processes for Military Pickups and Other Vehicles]
On April 6, Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov published an article titled "Streamlining Procurement Processes for Military Pickups and Other Vehicles" on his Telegram channel. The full text is as follows:
We are fulfilling another military request: accelerating the procurement of pickups so that troops can quickly receive transport equipment. Previously handled by units themselves, these procurement processes will now be centralized under the State Defense Procurement Agency (ДОТ).
The Ukrainian government has granted the State Defense Procurement Agency the status of a centralized procurement entity, enabling it to manage the Prozorro Market e-procurement platform, directly interface with the market, and handle certain administrative procedures.
Key procurement focus: Pickups
This is one of the most in-demand vehicle categories on the front lines.
The procurement agency will oversee core stages including market research and consultation; establishing unified technical specifications; setting qualification criteria; and supplier selection and review.
Units need only select a model and configuration from the platform’s directory, after which the system will automatically identify the best offer from pre-approved suppliers.
The initial list also includes motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, and BAJI off-road vehicles—equipment that will significantly enhance troop mobility.
Our goal: make procurement simpler, faster, and more efficient. Free up military personnel from paperwork so they can swiftly receive pickups and mobility equipment and get back to mission operations.
In the future, we plan to further expand the range of goods available for procurement by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
