South Korean media: BYD's overseas sales ratio is expected to reach 20% this year!
On October 28, South Korean media Newsis published an article stating that it is expected that by 2025, the export share of BYD, China's largest electric vehicle manufacturer, will reach around 20%.
Li Yunfei, General Manager of Brand Public Relations at BYD, stated that the company expects its total sales this year to be 4.6 million units, with 800,000 to 1 million units sold in markets outside of mainland China.
It has been reported that BYD has reduced its sales target for 2025 by 16% to 4.6 million units.
Li Yunfei predicted, "The overseas shipments of new models will significantly boost sales growth in the coming years."
He said that this adjustment is a reasonable decision based on market changes and pointed out that the net profits of major automakers worldwide generally declined in the first half of the year, and the entire automotive industry is facing pressure.
He explained that given the fierce competition in the Chinese market, reducing the sales target is appropriate for the company.
Despite geopolitical factors and the risk of high tariffs, BYD still plans to continue increasing investment in technological research and development.
Last year, BYD's sales outside of mainland China accounted for less than 10% of its total sales of 4.26 million units.
