Han media: BYD's sales in Europe surged 200% in August!

On October 17, the South Korean media "Today's Finance" published an article stating that China's BYD saw a significant increase in sales of eco-friendly cars such as pure electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles in the European market in August.

At the same time, Tesla's sales in Europe have declined, falling behind BYD for the second consecutive month.

Data released by the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) shows that BYD registered 9,130 new cars in EU member states in August, an increase of 201.3% compared to the same period last year.

BYD's cumulative sales growth from January to August was 244%.

In contrast, Tesla sold 8,334 electric vehicles in August, a decrease of 36.6% compared to the same period last year. Tesla's sales in the EU in July were 6,600 units, falling behind BYD's 9,698 units.

Reuters reported: "BYD's sales in Europe have exceeded Tesla for two consecutive months."

Despite negative factors such as U.S. tariffs and relaxed emission regulations, the European electric vehicle market continues to grow.

Additionally, automotive manufacturers entering the European market have focused on hybrid vehicles because they are cheaper and more profitable than pure electric vehicles.

Data from the European Automobile Manufacturers Association shows that the sales of pure electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles in Europe increased by 30.2% and 54.5%, respectively, compared to the same period last year in August this year.

Besides BYD, Chinese companies are also increasing their sales in Europe through hybrid vehicles. SAIC Group registered 8,046 new cars in August, an increase of 59.4% compared to the same period last year.

Reuters added: "Despite high tariffs imposed by the EU, Chinese electric vehicle companies are attracting European consumers with hybrid technology."
